thought for today

Today we dip into the story of Joseph, perhaps more familiar today from the stage rather than the Bible. reading the text this morning makes me realise how much more of God there is Genesis, compared with the musical. Joseph, is humble about his own power, but confident in God's. As we know Joseph's willingness to be God's servant, and God's decision to use him in that way combine to produce the turning point in the story. God may not choose us for such a high profile role, but we can always be willing to serve in whatever way we can, and then as James says are faith and our action will go together.
